Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. Psalm 34:1

A dear friend of mine recently said that she was contemplating scriptures about praising always and she realized something. She said that she had read those scriptures and thought she understood, but all this time she had missed a very important point.
If she was continually in the attitude of praise and thanksgiving, WHAT WAS SHE NOT DOING?
She was NOT:
• complaining
• doubting
• fearful
• angry
• gossiping
• saying things she shouldn't
The list goes on and on! It's not that praise and thanksgiving is so God will have His ego stroked. He's so amazing and huge that we could never praise Him enough. It's for us! It's for our best good! When we put our attention on Him we can hear His directions, feel His love, do His will, and we can keep from doing those things we shouldn't!!
What an awesome God! His ways are right and true and His mercy endures for all generations!!
